Greg Carson

owner, dive instructor, captain

Greg Carson moved to Rincon in the early 90’s as a dive instructor and captain for Taino Divers. He has been diving for 38 years.

He is an active waterman in Rincon and helps ensure water safety around the community. Carson has been a water patrol for surf events for 20 years.

Hobbies: freediving, scuba diving, spearfishing, surfing.

Jari Steinborn

owner and dive instructor

Originally from Finland, Jari moved down in 1995 to Rincon. With a passion for diving, Jari and Carson founded Taino Divers.

Jari also owns Shipwreck Restaurant, right next door to Taino Divers at the Black Eagle Marina.

Alexa Krakowiak

manager, dive instructor and boat crew

Alexa is a PADI MSDT who has completed scuba training all over the world. She’s excited to have found some of her favorite reefs right here in Rincon!

Alexa’s hobbies include scuba diving, taking her dog Penelope to the beach and everything that has to do with the invasive Lionfish including researching, hunting, cooking, eating and teaching others about their invasion.

Frank Lazu “Zen Panda”

Captain and dive instructor

Captain Frank has been diving for 37 years and has been working for Taino Divers for 18 years as an instructor and captain. Before working for Taino, he owned his own company fixing compressors around the island and also worked for pharmaceutical companies.

Sometimes you will hear Captain Frank sing on our boat to entertain customers during their surface interval.

Hobbies: scuba diving, cooking, archery.

mariel Barreto

Mariel native Puertorrican after 32 years living in the main land. Just moved back to Puerto Rico to start her own tour company, Mariex Adventures.

Open water scuba diver. Completed her certification with Taino Divers.

Her hobbies are hiking, exploring the island, diving, taking photos, cooking and making Tiktok videos.
